Biography

Chris knew he wanted to be an actor from a very young age. Indeed, he appeared in the lead role of Joseph in his nursery school and infant school NATIVITY plays for 4 years running.  Then, many years later…

Chris trained at Bretton Hall.   Last Christmas he starred Gary le Bold in BEAUTY & THE BEAST in Tewkesbury, the town he first lived in as a newborn a baby.  The previous year he starred as Nanny Annie Nidderdale in SLEEPING BEAUTY at Harrogate Theatre, returning to the venue having played Dame Trott in JACK & THE BEANSTALK the Christmas before.  Directly before that he appeared as Tony in Alan Ayckbourn’s WOMAN IN MIND at the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage.  He has other theatre credits for The Rude Mechanicals in GENTLE HARRY’S FARM and as Jonny in MEXICAN PROVERBS as part of the SnowGoose Festival at Bradford Playhouse. Musical credits include a year touring the UK as Perkins in BLOOD BROTHERS whilst also covering and playing the role of posh twin, Eddie, and in SOUL TRADERS playing the comedy role of George.  Panto appearances are as Potty Pierre in BEAUTY & THE BEAST in Stevenage, his second consecutive season in the town after playing Herbie the Hunstman in SNOW WHITE & THE SEVEN DWARFS, Wishy Washy in ALADDIN at the Brewery Arts in Kendal, Wishee Washee (different spelling!) in ALADDIN at The Broadway Theatre, Peterborough, Dandini in CINDERELLA for One From the Heart Productions at the Wyvern Theatre, Swindon, Prince Charming in CINDERELLA and a triumvirate of comedy roles (Papa, Snivel and Claude the Wardrobe) in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (both for PMA Productions), Prince Michael in SLEEPING BEAUTY at the Belgrade, Coventry, Dandini in CINDERELLA at The Lowry, Salford Quays and finally Wacker and Securidog in THE IDEAL GNOME EXPEDITION at the Castle Theatre, Wellingborough.  He has toured the UK and Channel Islands in a critically acclaimed outdoor production of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW as Lucentio for Oddsocks Productions for whom he has also played Claudio in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and the title role in MACBETH.  He has been a regular fixture on Tyneside at MetroCentre, where he has played the lead in many of their summer pantomimes and he has also appeared at Alton Towers twice as part of their Halloween Entertainment.  Other credits include Rocky in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW (Chopt Logic), the Emcee in CABARET (Colossal Productions), Bobby in Sondheim’s COMPANY and a Snow Child in CAROUSEL at the Leicester Haymarket.

TV and film credits include A TOUCH OF FROST, EMMERDALE (as 4 different characters!), CORONATION STREET, THE ROYAL TODAY, MY PARENTS ARE ALIENS and THE QUEST (all ITV), CRIMEWATCH and THE CHASE (both BBC), HOLLYOAKS (Channel 4) and the short film WOULD LIKE TO MEET for Screen Yorkshire.  He is an experienced compère and host of corporate events, hosting Annual conferences for Tesco, Boots and British Gas amongst others, and opened the new Public Transport Interchange on Tyneside with the Lord Mayor of Gateshead.  He has also been a guest presenter on BBC’s THE ONE SHOW and has been a news presenter on redrow.tv.

Adverts include being a Magician in a Redd’s (a beer) commercial, a Kitchen Salesman for German company Kutchenhaus, playing a DHL Delivery Boy in a European campaign, as a Sofa Salesman for DFS, a Sales Assistant for BrightHouse, a Dad for the Co-op/Somerfield, a young worker for AXA, a Living Statue for Ford, the presenter in the LighterLife series of adverts, a DIY handyman for Philips, the annoying, whooping presenter in Gillette‘s launch campaign for the Fusion ProGlide, an extremely fast talking store worker for Tesco and for 2 years running as the Ronseal Man (he did exactly what it said on the tin!).

Chris loves rugby and, having grown up in Leicestershire, is a massive Leicester Tigers fan and has held a season ticket for 28 years!
